:: December 05 Committee notes
Author: Jim Burns(P.R.O)
The recent AGM saw a change at the helm of the club when Kate Loughran decided to stand down after five years in the chair. Tommy Lynch led the tributes to her outstanding service to the club. Anthony Keenan was then elected as the new chair for 2006.
Following the initial full committee meeting, a number of sub-committees have been set up to improve the running of the club, namely football, finance, ladies, and social club. A series of meetings have already taken place, so if anyone thinks they can help on any of these committees please come along as new ideas are always welcome.
The juvenile managers have been appointed, but as in other years more personnel are needed and will be warmly welcomed. The senior team, under new managers Brendan Loughran and Art Ruddy, have their first training session on Sunday (22/01/06) in what we hope will be a successful season.
Membership is now due - £ 20.00 for all adult members, so sign up now!
On the social club scene, the first of many functions this year will take place on Saturday 11th February when there will be a Valentines Karoke night (more about this later). Members and friends are reminded that the social club is available for parties etc., contact any committee member.
The club Mass will be held on Thursday 9th March.
Finally, all at Carrickcruppen were saddened to hear of the death of Richard Hughes from Quarry Row - a true gentleman in every sense of the word. To his daughter Bernadette and entire family circle, we send our commiserations.
